Les Misérables, or in English-speaking districts abbreviated as Les Mis, is a timeless work based on the novel of the same name by Victor Hugo.

This musical was first written in French by composer Claude-Michel Schönberg in cooperation with lyricists Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel. Until 1985, 5 years after its French debut, it has its original West End production, and its Broadway production in the following year, which has been performing up to now; this version is the second longest-running musical around the globe.
In addition to the versions mentioned above, my favorite ones are the concert productions, including 10th anniversary(1995) and 25th(2010) anniversary; particularly, the latter one features contemporary pop stars such as Nick Jonas. Whereas personally I prefer the former one, since I reckon that the singers' interpretation of the songs are much more wonderful, and that I'll focus more on the 10th anniversary concert production in the following articles. Hope through reading my blog, all of you can enjoy this fabulous musical more!
